Constraints on Multiple Feature Occurrence
نویسنده
چکیده
Multiple feature occurrences, cross-linguistically attested as undesirable phonological configurations, may be resolved in at least two ways. One is by imposing a requirement that at most one feature of a given type may occur in a linguistic form. Another is by restricting the distribution, rather than the number, of features within a linguistic form; that is, by imposing like distributions on multiple features. The formal device originally posited for regulating cases of multiple feature occurrence is the Obligatory Contour Principle, or the OCP (Leben 1973, Goldsmith 1976, McCarthy 1986, Itô and Mester 1986, Yip 1988). Cast in a geometrical frame of reference, OCP bans a configuration like (1), which contains two occurrences of feature F.

Solving product mix problem in multiple constraints environment using goal programming
The theory of constraints is an approach to production planning and control that emphasizes on the constraints to increase throughput by effectively managing constraint resources. One application in theory of constraints is product mix decision. Product mix influences the performance measures in multi-product manufacturing system. This paper presents an alternative approach by using of goal pro...
متن کاملA Genetic Algorithm and a Model for the Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem with Multiple Crushable Modes
Abstract: This paper presents an exact model and a genetic algorithm for the multi-mode resource constrained project scheduling problem with generalized precedence relations in which the duration of an activity is determined by the mode selection and the duration reduction (crashing) applied within the selected mode. All resources considered are renewable. The objective is to determine a mode, ...
متن کامل3D Object Recognition and Pose Estimation for Multiple Objects Using Multi-Prioritized RANSAC and Model Updating
We present a feature-based framework that combines spatial feature clustering, guided sampling for pose generation, and model updating for 3D object recognition and pose estimation. Existing methods fails in case of repeated patterns or multiple instances of the same object, as they rely only on feature discriminability for matching and on the estimator capabilities for outlier rejection. We pr...
متن کاملFuzzy-rough Information Gain Ratio Approach to Filter-wrapper Feature Selection
Feature selection for various applications has been carried out for many years in many different research areas. However, there is a trade-off between finding feature subsets with minimum length and increasing the classification accuracy. In this paper, a filter-wrapper feature selection approach based on fuzzy-rough gain ratio is proposed to tackle this problem. As a search strategy, a modifie...
متن کاملMultiple Constraints to Compute Optical Flow - Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on
constraints in the computational schema. In the first step, it is shown that differential constraints correspond to an implicit feature tracking. Therefore, the lbest results (either in terms of measurement accuracy, and speed in the computation) are obtained by selecting and applying the constraints which are best "tuned" to the particular image feature under consideration. Considering also mu...
